My Go-To
Overall, this has been my favorite protein bar. It's the best combination of a super clean source and taste that I could find. It's my go-to meal if I'm rushed or part of breakfast if I want extra protein that day.

Love these healthy bars!
I go back and forth between which ones I like the best -- the Protein bars or the Active Raw Greens bars, so I always buy boxes of both kinds. Super-satisfying, they are more than a snack -- they actually fill in for a meal. Watch out -- they are addictive!!! They will continue in your stock of staples FOREVER! :-

Still a Great Bar, But Not The Same
I just noticed the previous review and just wanted to add that I hadn't noticed the bars shrank. I have an original box and compared it to the new Thriv version. Both are 75g bars, however the ingredients are slightly different. The original bar had no sodium, low sugars and 22g protein. This new version has sodium, more sugars and is 20g protein. The taste and consistency is basically the same. I've been eating these for about 10 years. This is the only protein bar that I can eat, so I'm glad that it's back even though it's slightly different. Still, 20g is a lot and I have it with an Orgain Organic Protein drink for another 20g. I give it 4/5 just for the variation in ingredients that yield more sodium, sugars and 2g less protein.

WAS a great product - then, "Thriv" took over & "SHRINK-FLATED" these bars!!
This is not really directed at AllStar Health, although I will say simply that it was lame how many months I kept being strung along with teasers that they would have these in the near future (always a specified date that then kept migrating out by several weeks). This is really aimed at "Thriv" (with a long 'i') - the new branding on these protein bars. This WAS a GREAT product, and I enjoyed hundreds of these bars over the years before the pandemic. For me it WAS, like other reviews indicate, easily the best deal on a very high-quality organic plant-based protein bar. Maybe it still could be???? That's why I'm rating at 3 stars, since this review is really about how this product is being sold, which is out of step with the long-established integrity of the product.
NOTE that all other reviews I see here were from BEFORE the pandemic hit (or very soon after it started). I noticed that this product was re-branded as (and/or bought out by) "Thriv", and clearly there's a new, more-"business-minded" philosophy at work. That's unfortunate. It’s the antithesis of what made this a great product.
I am always wary of when this happens with food, safety, education, or health-related products or services; and sure enough, they've dumbed this one down in at least one rather important way: these used to deliver 22g protein per bar, now down to 20g, so presumably (if they haven't messed with the formula), it's simply a smaller bar - nearly 20 percent so!! Meaning more packaging per gram of protein, more plastic waste to accumulate in the ocean, a greater footprint in energy expended per unit, etc. In short: That's LAME.
Of course this coincides with a massive increase in per unit price, which the shrinking product only amplifies. MSRP of $4 per bar that is now downsized to nearly 20% smaller!!?? This is called SHRINK-FLATION.
And it makes me wonder: What other corners might the new management have decided to cut to increase profits? Are some ingredients dumbed down now? I trusted the original company to be honest and up-front about these basics. But now.....?
So, I need to add here that I'm not at all against companies committed to quality doing what it takes to keep going: with the original company, I would have gladly paid an increased price set by them after the pandemic given the economic reality we all face. But not within this mind-numbing and insulting corporate shrinkflation model, which treats long-time consumers like we are absolutely stupid!!
My solution is a sad one for me: I simply refuse to buy these anymore.

Great Energy!
These bars are perfect for energy without the sugar high and drop that comes with most high carb bars. Backpacking or needing to work through lunch, these bars give a good support to physical and mental effort. They are free of soy or dairy and high in protein - 22g! Highly recommended!
