Alcohol Free Stridex Description from Blistex
Stridex is the first to take the sting and harshness out of medicated acne pads by removing the alcohol and using a softer, better-feeling pad.
Stridex Essential Pads contain a stronger acne-fighter (1% salicylic acid) than most "Regular" Strength Pads, plus they are the only medicated pads to contain essential vitamins A, E and C for clear, healthy skin. Salicylic acid penetrates pores to help eliminate and prevent breakouts, while essential vitamins soothe and nourish skin. Use after washing your face in the morning or during the day for a quick clean-up.
Stridex Alcohol-Free Pads are non-drying and gentler on the skin than ordinary alcohol-based formulas, enabling more frequent irritation-free use. That's important, because consistent daily use of acne-fighting medication is the key to effective acne control and prevention. Stridex offers the only medicated pads that are alcohol free. Competitive brands still contain alcohol at levels ranging from 34 percent to as high as 55 percent of the formulas. Stridex pads are also specially textured, to provide gentle cleansing and a better feel.
Stridex Alcohol-Free Pads remove dirt, unclog pores and dissolve oil to clear up and help prevent pimples. Each pad contains the proven acne medication, salicylic acid. Stridex Alcohol-Free Pads are available in three unique formulas: Maximum, Sensitive and Essential.
Ingredients:
Active Ingredient: Salicylic acid 1.0 (w/w)
Inactive Ingredients: ammonium lauryl sulfate, ammonium xylensulfonate, citric acid, DMDM hydantoin, fragrance, menthol, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, PPG-26 Buteth-26, purified water, simethicone, sodium ascorbyl phosphate, sodium borate, tetrasodium EDTA, tocopheryl acetate.
Manufacturer's Directions
Cleanse skin thoroughly before applying medication. Use the pad to wipe the entire affected area. Repeat with a clean pad as necessary to remove remaining traces of dirt. Because excessive drying of the skin may occur, start with one application daily, then gradually increase to two to three times daily as needed or as directed by a doctor. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day. Do not leave pad on skin for an extended period of time. Keep away from eyes, lips and other mucous membranes.
