Dehydroepiandrosterone, also known as DHEA, is a hormone naturally produced in the brain and adrenal glands. DHEA has the ability to convert into other hormones such as testosterone and estrogen, depending on the body’s needs.
As with many hormones in the body, DHEA levels naturally decline with age and so do the dependent hormones produced from DHEA conversion such as testosterone. Typically this results in poor energy levels, a weakened immune system and lower libido.
