Serrapeptase

Serrapeptase: Information

Serrapeptase is an enzyme supplement used to promote joint comfort and promote the healing of injuries. It represents a similar approach to health and healing as other proteolytic enzyme supplements like Wobenzym-N and bromelain. Like these, serrapeptase should not be confused with digestive enzyme supplements.

Serrapeptase's Health Benefits

Serrapeptase is a proteolytic enzyme, meaning it is able to break down proteins. Serrapeptase is derived from a species of bacteria (Serratia) found in the digestive tract of the Japanese silkworm. Serrapeptase may be able to relieve minor pain and inflammation by assisting the body in the disposal of cellular debris that accumulate in response to wear-and-tear, inflammation and other processes. Serrapeptase also promotes cardiovascular and arterial health while supporting the regeneration and renewal of body tissues.

Using Serrapeptase

Use as directed. When joint pain or pain from traumatic injuries is present, arnica gel is often very helpful and can be used along with serrapeptase supplements. Many supplemental enzymes are affected by the human digestive process. Most serrapeptase supplements are enteric-coated, so the enzyme's fragile enzyme structure will be unaffected by stomach acid, enabling the serrapeptase to be absorbed and used by the body.

Side-effects and Cautions:

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using serrapeptase in combination with any medication.
