Kudzu has a long history of use in Traditional Chinese Medicine where it used for various disorders. Kudzu is known botanically as Radix puerariae. Kudzu is a rich source of antioxidant isoflavones and other beneficial compounds.

Kudzu's Health Benefits

Kudzu may be able to lessen the severity of alcoholic hangovers and alcohol cravings although the mechanism for this is not yet established. Kudzu contains several beneficial isoflavones, including daidzein, daidzin and genistein. Kudzu root compounds can affect neurotransmitters (including serotonin, GABA, and glutamate) and it has shown value in treating certain types of headache and some menopausal symptoms.
