Eucalyptus is a diverse group of tree species that includes more than seven hundred species, most native to Australia. Eucalyptus has also been planted in various parts of the world including dry regions of California. Eucalyptus essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves.
Eucalyptus Oil's Health Benefits
Eucalyptus oil's aromatic quality is invigorating and clearing to the senses. Eucalyptus oil is sometimes used for decongestant effects and is an ingredient in most popular degongestant chest rubs. It can be applied just under the nose to keep nasal passages clear, used in an aromatherapy diffuser or used in a vaporizer (check with manufacturer to determine if this is possible with your vaporizer device). Eucalyptus oil also has insect-repellent properties and is an active ingredient in some commercial mosquito repellents.
